Stay compliant with FCC regulations, or else...

Here's a reminder why it is prudent to stay compliant with FCC regulations - heavy fines could get issued out to noncompliant manufacturers!

In a notice of apparent liability of forfeiture adopted and released by the commision this week, a fine of over $1.2M was proposed to a Brooklyn New York company for marketing 33 device models without obtaining proper equipment authorization.

The FCC's EMC regulations on RF (Radio Frequency) devices contained in the Code of Federal Regulations Title 47 Part 15, primarily provide requirements and limits on RF emissions from electronic devices. Before equipment can be marketed for sale in the US, they need to have been evaluated for compliance with the FCC regulations. While simulation does not replace the requirement to test and measure equipment, simulation can be a valuable ally in the development process to help identify issues before prototyping and during model revisions.

See the FCC notice at the links below and get in touch with us at Lagwaves to help with your EMC design and simulation needs. Together we can help stay on the good side of the spectrum regulators and avoide hefty fines :)
